Online Apollo Guidance Computer Simulator

Moonjs is an online Apollo Guidance Computer (AGC) simulator. It is a port of Virtual AGC by Ronald Burkey from C to javascript/asm.js using the Emscripten compiler.
AGC was the main computer system of the Apollo program that successfully landed 12 astronauts on Moon. There was one AGC on each of the Apollo Command Modules and another one on each Lunar Module. There was also a second backup computer system called Abort Guidance System (AGS) on the Lunar Modules, which is simulated by Virtual AGC, but not the current version of Moonjs.

Astronauts interacted with AGC by using DSKY, a combination of 7-segment numerical displays, indicator lights and a simple keypad, which is simulated on this page.

Let’s Play 1001 Games

I’m Gaming Jay and I’m on a quest to try every game in the book 1001 Video Games You Must Play Before You Die. Each week I play two games and record the results. I post my videos as Let’s Plays on YouTube and write short written summaries of each game here. So are you a retro gaming fan? If so, I invite you to join me, and follow along, as I attempt to play 1001 video games… before I die.

Recalbox Is a Dead Simple Game Emulator Operating System for the Raspberry Pi

Recalbox is an open source operating system built with the same basic backbone as RetroPie, but with a simplified interface and setup process. At a glance, the general usage is a little easier than RetroPie, with four-player controller support a little more obvious, and an easier update system that keeps your emulators up to date. The media center software, Kodi is also packed in from the start with no additional set up required.

FullPageOS Automatically Boots Your Raspberry Pi Into a Full Page Web Kiosk Mode

FullPageOS is set up to boot into a full-screen Chromium window on boot. This means if you’re using your Pi to power an information display, you won’t need to go through the process of disabling screen savers, editing display size, and forcing full-screen mode on your own. All you need to do is install FullPageOS on an SD card, then edit a TXT file to include your Wi-Fi network info and the URL you want it to load up. This is a pretty niche little distribution for the Pi, but it should make those dashboards and other HUDs much quicker to set up.

The Play Store Is Coming to Chrome OS, Bringing Tons of Android Apps

Today, Google made a lot of Chrome OS users very happy. The full suite of Android apps will officially be coming to Chrome OS soon, starting with a few select devices. Later this year, the Play Store will come to Chrome OS, which means users will be able to buy and install Android apps just like they do on their phones and tablets. Notably, this is distinct from downloading Android apps via the Chrome Web Store, which Google first started experimenting with in late 2014.

Reality doesn’t exist until we measure it, quantum experiment confirms – ScienceAlert

Australian scientists have recreated a famous experiment and confirmed quantum physics’s bizarre predictions about the nature of reality, by proving that reality doesn’t actually exist until we measure it – at least, not on the very small scale. That all sounds a little mind-meltingly complex, but the experiment poses a pretty simple question: if you have an object that can either act like a particle or a wave, at what point does that object ‚decide‘?
